Over the years Datacat Communications has constantly been awarded projects that include everything from a full design, management, installation and maintenance on some of the largest Defence backbone networks across Australia.

This involves all Civil works and Cabling installations across a variety of Defence establishments in South Australia and interstate.

Other works that Datacat are frequently working on include internal secure Fibre Optic and Copper networks. These networks are installed in accordance with extremely stringent guidelines due to the required security level that our customers require.

Edinburgh Base Area Network Remediation
Datacat were awarded the main contract for all Civil and Cabling installation across the entire RAAF Base Edinburgh, DSTO and Edinburgh Parks. The project involved design and installation of secured pit and pipe works along with new Building Entry points and installing over 55 kilometres of Optical Fibre.

Northern Territory Defence Audit
After a very long tendering process Datacat Communications was awarded the contract for a base wide Telecommunications Vertical Cabling Audit on all 5 main Defence sites in the Northern Territory. Datacat was to gather all this information along with all Pit and Pipe and submit all this in a data base format. Time estimate to complete this project was approximately 9 months however due to time constraints Defence reduced the completion date to 6 months, with careful planning and management the project was still able to be delivered on time without affecting any standards of work.  

RAAF Edinburgh Cable Solve installation
Datacat Communications designed, managed and installed a Cable Solve solution to the entire site. The project involved the full audit of over 600 telecommunications pits, 100 building entry points and 100 Telecommunication termination cabinets.

Adelaide Airport
Datacat were awarded Foreman roles within the Adelaide Airport upgrade.
This involved installations of all Vertical and Horizontal Communications cabling throughout the new Adelaide Airport terminal.

Datacat Communications had a team of five technicians who travelled to ‘HQ-JOC; which is Defence Building in Canberra and stayed close to this site for 1 month to help fast track this major project to maintain the very tight schedule.

Spotless Preferred Contractor
Commenced in 2009 Datacat has been on Spotless Service’s preferred contractors list under the Service group name ‘Data Communications, Audio and Visual’. Under this contract we are responsible for installations along with any service and maintenance.

Raytheon AWD Facility
Datacat Communications Designed, Managed and installed a fully operational secret network infrastructure system to a secure Raytheon site. The project was fully installed during the hours of 2000 hours and 0630 hours as not to disturb the daily operations of the site.

Coles Cabling Upgrade
Majority of the Coles stores in South Australia upgraded certain parts of their Telecommunications systems, Datacat Communications had the task of upgrading the structured cabling for these systems state wide.
